PROJECT: Designing The New Niche Nightclub

In 2009, Niche Nightclub reopened at a new venue in Sheffield city centre. The project involved the refurbishment of the aquired venue, as well as the complete design of an ajoining unit which was to be incorporated into the final nightclub.

The ajoining unit was an empty shell when it was aquired. The brief for this room was to create an updated version of the original nightclub that closed in 2005. Steel ducting, exposed brick and block work, and the original purple colour scheme were key design criteria.

The existing venue had previously been used as a nightclub, but was looking tired, uncoordinted and dated. The brief for this room was to give it a new lease of life. This was achieved by altering the layout to improve the flow, adding Niche branding to the venue, lighting redesign and a complete decorative overhaul.
